The June EMCC Board of Trustees meeting will be held at 6pm on Monday, June 12, 2023  in the F.R. Young Student Union Board Dining Room on the Scooba Campus .  The public is invited to attend.

A graduation ceremony took place May 25 for students who earned their high school equivalency diplomas through East Mississippi Community College’s Adult Education Launch Pad.

Twenty-one students enrolled in East Mississippi Community College's Adult Education Launch Pad recently earned their high school equivalency diplomas, with 15 of the students participating in a graduation ceremony that took place May 25 in the Lyceum Auditorium on the college's Golden Triangle campus.

East Mississippi Community College held spring 2023 commencement ceremonies Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, at the college's Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses.

Three East Mississippi Community College students were among the winners in a creative writing contest that included entries from community colleges across Mississippi. Abby Romig, at left, and Laura Hope Belk are two of the EMCC students who placed in the competition, as did Peyton J. Wolf, who is not pictured.
EMCC STUDENTS, MAGAZINE EARN HONORS IN STATEWIDE CONTESTMay 11, 2023

Three East Mississippi Community College students placed in the 2023 Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association's (MCCWA) annual workshop and contest, and EMCC's literary magazine, "Syzygy," took second-place honors among in-house college publications that were professionally bound.

Mississippi legislators presented East Mississippi Community College with a ceremonial check in the amount of $2 million May 4 to offset construction costs of a new career technical building to be built on the college’s Scooba campus. Plans for construction of a new career technical building on East Mississippi Community College's Scooba campus received a boost by members of the Mississippi Legislature and Gov. Tate Reeves, who approved $2 million for the project during the 2023 regular session.

About 20 students and instructors with East Mississippi Community College's Automotive Technology/Diesel Mechanics department participated in a day-long training exercise on electric vehicles (EVs) Wednesday, May 3, taught by Florida-based AVI, an accredited ASE training provider headquartered out of Fort Myers, Florida.

Katherine Dunstan took third place in Drawing in the Mississippi Community College Art Instructors Association’s Student Art Competition and Art Show. Dunstan attends school on East Mississippi Community College’s Golden Triangle campus, where she is also enrolled in the Golden Triangle Early College High School.

Two East Mississippi Community College students placed in the Mississippi Community College Art Instructors Association's Student Art Competition and Art Show.

Colin Draving is the new assistant golf pro at the Lion Hills Center & Golf in Columbus and will assist with operations of the pro shop. Draving will also provide golf lessons and help coordinate tournaments and other events.

Colin Draving has been hired to serve in the role of assistant golf professional at East Mississippi Community College's Lion Hills Center & Golf Course, where he will provide private lessons and assist in day-to-day management of the pro shop.

EMCC MARKETING STUDENTS VISIT CONGRESS DURING D.C. TOURApril 4, 2023

Ten students enrolled in East Mississippi Community College's Marketing Technology program on the Scooba campus recently traveled to Washington, D.C., where they toured national monuments and spoke with federal officials about future job opportunities and federal funding for noncredit workforce programs. They also visited New York City.

Phi Theta Kappa chapters, advisors and student members on East Mississippi Community College's Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses were recognized during the Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Awards Gala 2023 March 2-3 at Mississippi State University.

Members of the Mighty Lions Jazz Band will perform during the Pine Grove Arts Festival, which will take place April 11 and April 13 on the college's Scooba campus and on April 18 on April 18.
